This all sounds very interesting and is a very good idea.  My question is how will you handle law enforcement? Would you have the local sheriff's Dept come in if there was a problem or would you have your own police dept? Is this going to be "public" land that everyone can live on or is it going to be a town where people buy their own piece of the property?

I think at first we should look that the police office in the next town is responsible for us because I don´t know how many people are going to live there from the start.

And I don´t think it is easy to get a sheriff living there. I´ve heard that you are a deputy, what is need for you to become a full sheriff in the village?

Id say we get the police from the town over in needed situations but have the ability to secure a suspect until police arrival. ie citizens arrests

>.< something like that mistshadow.  But we will need people to watch over the village. Kind of like the town warriors... We will have to rely on the closest towns lawinforcement. But we do need people in town we can call to help make a citizens arrest.

You can only be a sheriff over a county. However you can have a police department (even if it is only one officer) . It's the same license and same difference you just have different jurisdictions.  I highly do not advise any type of citizen arrests unless it is a felony they are committing.  All kinds of legal problems can arise from that sometimes landing you in jail. Normally in a town that does not have a police department it is covered by the sheriff's department however working for one I know what kinds of problems that cause.  Normally the officers have a very large area to cover and it can take a while to get to the problem especially if they are on another call.  My suggestion would be one of two things. You can have your own police department (doesn't have to be a specific amount of officers and not sure on how you would do that in missouri) and the officer can work a certain shift and have an emergency phone line that the county dispatch can call when they are off shift if they need your officer out. Or This: In the state of texas and I'm sure its probably the same in missouri you are a police officer everywhere.  Meaning you can arrest anywhere in the state as long as its above a traffic offense.  Advertise for a security officer position and offer say free rent on a home or some type of incentive.  The officer can answer any emergencies and deal with it until the local SD gets there.  We do that here.  We have officer's that work in apt complexes that have an emergency cell phone that the residents call to get immediate service.  And most often things can be resolved without even having to call the pd.  They generally get free rent and electricity or something along those lines.

Hmmmm you know, if we have a good set of rules that we can all agree with and then just rely on the local law in emergencies then that might be a better way to go.

We can always settle the non serious problems in village.

Law enforcement is a very risky and walk the line when you need to have a department. I was a military policeman for 3 years and it gets very difficult with who is in charge of what and what laws are created to match the federal law, what laws contradict federal law, when one law is enforced, and the number one fact is all law enforcement is slow to respond. For us to even have a police department would have to come later when we have someone who knows all that laws, such as a paralegal or lawyer to help understand what actions the police should do and so on. Oh yeah and a civilian cannot apprehend(arrest) a civilian, only law enforcement is allowed to arrest a civilian, if a town warrior does it then it would be considered assault by federal law and it would back fire on us. The whole law enforcement would have to come from a the nearby town at first when we start out due the the fact our economy needs to build, building up a small city governent, and all that. Government dictates the police force and economy dictates the pay. But maybe later on in the future we can have a PD.
